Fifth Week

This week was filled with not too much. Mostly sleeping, taking some pictures, and visiting Grandmaman, André and Benjamin's school. All the kids in their class love Aleenah, and always ask what the bump on her head is, and worry that it hurts her. She is quite the little "show and tell". Aleenah and I also went over to Gramma's to hang out with Eric on Wednesday.. he is sure moving around alot, it won't be long before he is crawling all over the place.

Aleenah is definetly growing, although not as fast as most babies... she is getting there. She is starting to eat more formula and more often, but she still sleeps alot. She is really starting to become more aware, and when we play music she seems to really enjoy it.

Well that's about all this week...

Fourth Week

Now this week was a busy one.. Easter!!! We had a lovely visit from my father and his girlfriend. They came down from Quebec to meet Aleenah. My oldest brother also came down and met her. So many people for Aleenah to remember.

Chad, Aleenah and I, also joined the Hughes family for our traditional Easter dinner, which was absolutely delicious. Equipped with her "first easter" sleeper and bib, Aleenah was ready.... to sleep through the whole thing. She woke up for a few pictures with Aunt Shelley, and baby Eric. We are still not sure who is more of a ham... Shelley or Eric :).

Aleenah also got introduced to her new floor mat, she loved playing on her tummy. Howeverm she once again fell asleep.. We also went and watched her daddy play volleyball, she slept through that as well. I am sure that soon enough she will be more awake, more often.

This week we also went and visited with Maya, funny how they are about the same size. Maya seems to be a good baby, and Jimmy and Erica were looking great too.

Other than that we did our normal stuff and we hung out with our doggie, who by the way got her head caught in the garbage can this week... always something funny going on at our house.

Third Week

Yay!!! We finally got to meet little Maya Hughes!! Congrats Erica and Jim. Another beautiful little girl in the family. Born Thursday, April 9th, 2009, weighing 7lbs 13 oz, and 21" long.. already bigger than Aleenah. She is definetly a cutie and her teeth are quite the little miracle. It will be great to watch these two grow up, exactly three weeks apart.

Other than that this week has been quite uneventful.. We had another photo shoot, with Aleenah's purple hippo, and we noticed that her little red mark on her head is getting bigger (almost by the day). It started off as a small red mark when she was born, and it has now grown to the size of a nickel... and it is starting to pop out more. The doctor called it a "Strawberry mark", and I guess they are quite common. It is supposed to grow for the first 6months to a year, and then it will start to dissapear. She also has one on her ankle, at least they don't hurt her.

Aleenah was babysat this week, by her Grand-maman and Popo. She slept a nice 7 hour stretch for them, and I got to catch up on some much needed rest. After moving, and being up most night, I was definetly starting to look a little worn down.

Let's see what next week brings with our little bundle of joy!! :)

Second Week

Another eventful week with baby Aleenah. We moved!!! Our new place is beautiful and big, and perfect for our little family. We are still in Woodstock, so both sets of grandparents are still right nearby. Aleenah has a great room, it's green and she has way too much stuff in it. My favorite part is her crib, and the fact that she sleeps in it.

This week Aleenah met my nephews Benjamin (6 years old), André (4 years old) and my niece Julie (1 1/2 years old). They were all very gentle with her, and Julie was quite happy to have a new little girl to play with. Everytime Aleenah would cry she would kiss her forehead and tell her : "No cry, it's ok.", very sweet.

Chad and I are starting to get used to our new little bundle of joy, she is a really easy going baby so it's been quite easy (so far). Chad never wakes up in the middle of the night, I always get to Alee before she cries. Speaking of nights.. she is doing pretty good in the sleep department. She sleeps alot during the day, sleeps when she is in the stroller or in the car, and sleeps for 4 hour spurts at night.

Finally, this week we had our first photo shoot. She was pretty cute in her striped onesie, and her pink striped socks. She has officially become my favorite thing to photograph.. and I'm sure that will not change anytime soon.
On April 1st, the health nurse came by and weighed Aleenah, she was 7lbs 0.6oz.

Still waiting on little Maya, should be here any day now!!
