Forty Fifth Week

This week was a really fun week, Aleenah got to see her cousin Maya and her boy-friend Riley. On Monday evening Aleenah, daddy and mommy all went to Volleyball. Daddy plays with his cousin Jimmy, and he brought his little family along too. So Maya, and Alee (who are only 3 weeks apart) got to see each other and play. Aleenah really enjoyed Maya's toy phone, so after volleyball we went and bought Alee the same one. She brings it with her to every room of the house and really seems to enjoy the music it makes.
On Tuesday we went over to Stephanie's (a friend from mommy's work) and visited with her, her little boy Riley and her niece Ella. Alee had a ball, she played and really seemed to enjoy it there. It's good to know that down the road if we need a babysitter or daycare she is available and really good with her.
Other than that the week has been fairly quiet, Aleenah is still getting around by scooting on her bum. She is so adorable, but we definitly can not even leave her for a few seconds, she just gets into everything. She played with Vollie and the kitties, and of course with her daddy, it's nice to have a somewhat quiet week with the family. I wonder how busy next week will be...

Forty Fourth Week

This week was pretty special, on Saturday it was mommy and daddy's anniversary. Aleenah got to celebrate with us at our friends Monique and Joe's wedding. It was a great time, with all our friends, and Alee was great the whole time. I don't think she cried once during the whole day. She did however almost fall asleep in the ceremony. We had a whole corner set up with toys for her at the reception, it looked like her own little playroom. Aleenah left around 7:30pm and went to Grandma and Grandpa Hughes for the night, while mommy and daddy had an anniversary night out.
On Sunday we went to Kelsey's for dinner, with Grandma and Grandpa. It was nice to go out for dinner with them, and just not have to think about making a meal. Other than that our week was very uneventful. We are all still patiently waiting for Aleenah to crawl, but she has not yet.
Everyone says she will just get up and go one of these days, maybe that day will be in the next few weeks...

Forty Third Week

Still no crawling, but Alee still manages to get around quite well. She just scoots on her butt, and if she is on her tummy she slithers backwards. Either way, she always makes it to where she wants to go somehow. This week was a quiet week at home, hanging out with the animals. Aleenah just loves to play with Vollie, she is now starting to roll Vollie's ball, and Vollie goes and fetches it. They are so cute to watch together. Alee also like to brush the kitties hair, and is always pulling on their tails.
Another thing Aleenah enjoys is books. We've tried giving her board books, but she prefers regular paper books. She wears them as hats, and we often find her jibber jabbering as if she were reading them to us.
Even though she is still not crawling, I definitly think she is developping at a normal pace, she is very smart. She loves to wave hello and goodbye, she can say many words like: dada, kitty cat, doggie, and a few more. It's wonderful to see her grow, everyday something new.

Forty Second Week

On Saturday we visited Great Grandma Marie and Great Grandpa Lorne, they live about an hour and a half away. Alee had a lot of fun at their house, playing on the floor, and watching old movies.
Other than that is was a pretty uneventful week for Alee. She is still not crawling, or walking and does not show any desire to as well. We finally got the pieces to fix Alee's crib (storkcraft recall), but she does not seem to want to sleep in it anymore. She has always slept 10-12 hour nights, and she is now waking up in the middle of the night. So we decided to put her back in the playpen, and she slept perfectly once more. I am not too sure what to do because when she does sleep in the crib her legs get stuck in the bars, and she wakes up stuck and in pain. Therefore, for now the playpen is our best option, or sleeping on daddy.
Other than that Alee spent her week playing, eating, sleeping... the usual. We even had Eric over, they had matching pajamas, it was very cute. You can definitely tell they are related.
Hopefully next week shows more promise towards crawling, and walking... all in good time I guess.

Forty First Week

A new year begins this week, so exciting to ring in 2010 with little Alee. Aleenah's first New Year celebration was spent with Grandma and Grandpa Hughes, and mommy and daddy. We played cards, and Jenga at Grandma's and watched the countdown. Alee was sleeping until about ten minutes before the countdown, she woke up just on time to celebrate the New Year. Last year was quite eventful for our little family, and we are all excited to see what this new year has in store for us.
This week was also very exciting for Alee, because she got to meet her uncle Raph for the first time. Uncle Raph does not have any kids, but he was really good with Alee. She was really recognizing him by the end of the week. Everytime he would walk in she would clap her hands, it was really cute.
On Sunday we were leaving to go shopping, when in front of the house their was people on the street. We did not know what was going on at first, but after a few minutes we realized it was the Olympic Torch making it's way through Woodstock. It was nice to see that, and to be able to experience that with Alee.
The rest of the week was pretty much the same as every other, spent with just mommy and Alee hanging out around the house, and playing. I have a feeling this month will be alot of relaxing time, as December was pretty busy.
