Tenth Week

Once again, Aleenah was a busy girl this week. We had Eric's birthday party, which was a blast. He is one, and so cute. He was a spoiled little boy, I'd say over 50 people came to visit him. We got him some clothes, and a cute backpack/suitcase. Aleenah spent most of the birthday with gramma, and we had to leave early to pick up Chad from one of his many ball tournaments.

On the 25th, Aleenah had to go for her shots, poor thing did not like that at all. After the first one in her left leg, she definetly knew what was coming when I held her right leg.. poor thing. That night she was pretty tired, but she came with me to baseball dressed in her baseball onesie. She slept the whole time, and then she slept the whole night.. those shots really got to her.

When we went to the baby wellness clinic this week Aleenah weighed 10lbs5oz, and the topic of discussion was Baby CPR, which was really interesting. Now Hannah, and her mom Carissa come with us to baby wellness and then Subway. It's nice to get out with other new moms.

Today, we went to grandmaman's school for a picnic with Ben and André's class, it was really fun. Aleenah is definetly going to that school, it has so many great activities for the kids, and of course she will be bilingual.

Of course Aleenah danced this week too, just great to see her development. She is a joy to watch grow! :)

Ninth Week

We had another boring week. We went to popo and grandmaman's because they were babysitting Julie. Julie got to hang out with her little cousin one on one, and it was super cute to see how she interacts with her. She is such a gentle little girl.

Other than that Chad and I just enjoyed spending some time with our little baby girl. We did not do to much. Aleenah and I went to watch Chad play baseball and she must love being outside because she slept the whole time.

We went to the baby wellness clinic, and this time we went with Stephanie and Riley, Aleenah was a whopping 10lbs 1oz, and was 22 1/2" long, this would explain some of the cranky nights we have been having.. *growth spurt*. She is starting to fill out nicely, and her baby acne seems to be going away.

Eight Week

Finally a very eventful week to write about!!

First of all we got to meet our new little friend Riley. I used to work with Riley's mom Stephanie. He was born May 9th, 2009 and is a cute little boy. We were so excited to meet him, we walked down to the hospital and visited them.. they both looked great.
On May 10th, it was Mother's Day, we celebrated with the company of grandmaman, gramma, grampa and popo. We had a lovely chicken dinner, that I made in my crockpot.. (I love that thing). Aleenah had a photo shoot that day, and this whole week she had really bad baby acne. It got so bad that midway through the week we brought her to my doctors. He told us it was normal, and that she had craddle cap, neonatal acne, stork marks on the back of her neck and of course her beloved strawberry mark was getting bigger. Her whole face was really red, but she was in good spirits so I think she must have been fine.

And finally, we were so happy to see Aleenah bust a move for a first time this week. Her videos have all been posted on www.youtube.com, and you can look them up by typing Aleenah.

That's it for now.. till next week!! :)

Seventh Week

We did nothing this week.. Aleenah is starting to drink 4-5oz every 3 hours. So needless to say she is starting to grow. I always meant to take a picture of Aleenah in the pink outfit I was christened in, and I almost missed my chance. I put her in it this week and it was almost to small, good thing I remembered. She definetly looks nothing like me, and looks like Chad. I thought that maybe by putting her in one of my old outfits I would see a ressemblance.. but I don't.

The bump on her head is still growing, as is the one on her ankle. I barely notice them anymore, they are part of her charm. She is now playing more and more with her floor mats, and is loving tummy time. That's it for this week.

Sixth Week

Well Aleenah is getting a little bigger all the time. On April 30th, she weighed in at 9lbs 10z when we went to the baby wellness clinic. We go there every Thursday now, and I just love to see how much she is growing. As for her lenght... it has not changed much. She is now 20 1/2", still small. However, even though she is small... she is quite loud. Not so much in the crying department, but definetly in the "farts". She is so loud people think it's Chad or me farting.. silly girl.

We spent this week with many loved ones, as it was Aleenah's baby shower with the Hughes side. It was great to see all the aunts, cousins and friends... and Aleenah definetly got spoiled. She is one well dressed little princess. She also was introduced, a little better, to Justin. Justin is our good friends Karen and Corey's little boy. He is a year old, almost two and he is a sweetheart. He really liked holding Alee, and after the shower we went to their house to watch basketball.

Other than that this week was spent doing the same old thing.. sleeping, photo shoots, eating.. and walking. Can't wait to see what the futur will bring.
