Fourteenth Week

Aleenah got to celebrate father's day with her loving daddy, popo and grandpa Hughes. We had everyone over for a pasta dinner, and Nascar. It was such a hot night at our house, actually it was a very hot week. Aleenah wore onesies to bed.. and even that was sometimes too hot.
This was a great week for growth and development! Aleenah went in the exersaucer for the first time and she did wonderful. She is still a very tiny baby so she doesnt even fill out half the seat, but she managed to stay up and play in it for more than an hour. Grandma Hughes and I had quite a fun time watching her.
It was Benny's (Aleenah's Cousin) graduation this week, it was really nice to be able to attend, and Alee got to wear another one of her nice dresses... at least we are getting good use of all her clothes.
Aleenah also went to the beach for the first time this week. Aleenah, Mommy and Auntie Emilie went to Grandbend. It was a full day of walking the strip.. and suntanning. Aleenah slept most of the time, but she did wake up to enjoy a drink with us at the local bar Coco's.
All in all this week was really fun, and Aleenah just keeps amazing me everyday.

Thirteenth Week

This week started off pretty good, little Aleenah decided to laugh for us for the first time. Finally something she got from me, she has also began discovering her little hands. If she is not playing with them, they are in her mouth. She prefers them over the soother. We had a pretty quiet weekend, she hung out with her daddy on Saturday, and on Sunday we all slept in. For dinner we had gramma and grandpa Hughes over, and gramma gave Alee her bath.

Aleenah slept from 10:30-6:30 on Monday night, and she slept from 12:00-8:00 on Tuesday night... it was wonderful to get full nights of sleep. She is still eating 5oz bottles every 4 hours, other than overnight. However, I think she should start being hungrier soon. The rest of the week she kept up her 8 hour sleeping pattern which was great.

She is truly starting to get pretty big personality for such a little girl, it's funny too watch her dance and coo. She now weighs in at 11lbs 2.5oz.. we finally broke the 11lbs mark!! Tonight we will be having Uncle Trevor and Cousin Eric for dinner, should be fun!! Well until next week... we will see what she does next! :)

Twelfth Week

Aleenah is becoming more and more aware all the time. She is smiling, playing and cooing. She loves to play on her floor mats both on her back and on her stomach. She is truly a funny little girl.

This week we had two birthdays, Olivia (Chad's cousins daughter) and Natalie (Chad's bestfriends daughter). Both on the Sunday, both turning one. We had a lot of fun, and it was a beautiful day to be outside. I had a blast taking pictures at both parties, and just can not wait for Alee to have her own party. Both little girls were so pretty, and they both can walk/almost walk. It was really great to see all the kids at Olivia's party. A lot of little cousins, who will all get to grow up together (so nice).

This week was also the first time I put Aleenah in her bumbo. Although she is still tiny, with the help of a blanket she was able to sit up in it for a long time. She has become attached to a rabbit teddy she has, we named him Bits, and he is white and pink. She always holds him and it is very cute to see.

This week, at the baby wellness clinic Aleenah was 10lbs 11.9oz and was 22 3/4" long. She is my little monster :). She is eating a lot more now, and is starting to sleep through the night more consistently.

Can't wait until she laughs. :) Soon!!

Eleventh Week

Aleenah is reaping all the benefits of my garage sale shopping. Everything I buy is for her, and I find some pretty great stuff.. from toys to clothes, people only use it for a short while and get rid of it. One thing we found was Alee's new sunglasses, not her first pair but her second. Vollie ate the first ones.

This week Aleenah went for a lovely walk with her Daddy, his best friend Evan and his little girl Natalie. I guess people were staring at them, must have been cute. We also had some baseball this week, but Alee stayed home with gramma because it was raining.

Aleenah's godfather, Tyler and his girlfriend Rachel also visited (it wasn't the first time), but Rachel likes to sing to Alee when she cries.. which is quite entertaining. Something like: "Twinkle, Twinkle little star... daddy drives a motor car.." :) it seems to calm Aleenah down.

I was sick and could not go to the baby wellness clinic so gramma brought Aleenah, she was 10lbs 9.8oz. She's getting there, slowly but surely.

We also went for a long walk down by Burgess park, it's a beautiful trail, and we bring Vollie because she likes to swim in the river.

Next week we have two more birthdays, should be a fun week.
