Oh what a week it's been. Aleenah , Chad and I came home on Monday, March 23rd, 2009. We are currently living in the basement of Chad's parents house until we move on April 1st. The first night home was definetly an experience... Aleenah slept in her playpen, in her own room, from 11pm to 4am. When she woke up I tried to feed her, but after a long 2 hours of crying and screaming I realized that their may be no milk for her. After this discovery, Chad made her a bottle of formula and she drank 3oz very quickly. She was obviously not getting much milk from me, because at her first appointment on Wednesday, March 25th, 2009, she weighed 6lbs 9oz. She was not gaining fast enough, and she had become quite jaundice. She spent most of this week laying in her chair, in front of the living room window.
Many people came to visit Aleenah, we had alot of help this week... which was greatly needed to help in my recovery. Aleenah also met her "Big, doggie, sister, friend" Vollie. Vollie is our Collie X German Shepherd, and she is very protective of the new addition to the family. Everytime I would feed Aleenah, Vollie would rest her head on my lap and watch, I never thought she would be so gentle.
Aleenah is also starting to enjoy the bath, the first two she cried alot, but now she just lays back and enjoys it.
Aleenah is patiently awaiting the arrival of her little cousin Maya, but as of yet... still no Maya.
